Mangaluru, Mar 22: After the successful completion of Season 1, ‘ENVIGREEN MISS & MRS MANGALURU 2018’, Rego Events Private Limited is proud to announce Season 2 charity pageant which will be conducted in July 2019. MISS & MRS MANGALURU is a unique charity linked pageant whereby the contestants will have to involve in social cause activities.

Announcing this at a press meet held at the Mangalore press club on Friday, the event organizer Mrs. India Dubai 2017 Joyce Rego said that the Season 2 pageant will provide an ideal platform for contestants as well as performers to showcase their talents and prove themselves the best among the rest. “We will provide an opportunity for talented contestants to serve the poor and needy in the society we live in,” she said.

Joyce Rego further added that crowd funding is her main area of interest in this pageant. It is a collection of big or small amount that will be donated for the betterment of our society. “Crowd funding is one kind of concept wherein you don’t make the person feel empty pockets while doing charity. Hence it will give a chance to everyone, whatever the income, to involve in charity and contribute one’s mite to a good cause,” she said.

Pageants are always connected with a cause. Hence we believe that our charity pageant is focused more on the inner beauty than the outer beauty. The first priority will be given to the contestants who are more interested in social service or who has society improvement projects that are not completed due to lack of resources. Based on season 1 registration reviews, we have increased the age limit for Miss Category in 2019. It starts from 18 years to 35 years (singles only) and Mrs. Category will start from 18 years to 50 years (married/widow). The online registration on our website www.regoevents.com will be free and open from 25 March 2019. There will not be any criteria for height, weight, curve or color during selection. Auditions will be conducted in mid of April 2019 and registered contestants will be informed accordingly. The deadline for the online registration is 10 April 2019 and registration is free.

The charity pageant concept helps the poor more than the rich.

Mangaluru: Public transport in Mangaluru is set for a state-led transformation as the government moves to deploy 100 new electric govt buses to replace unreliable private services. The initiative aims to provide a dependable alternative to private operators who have been frequently "cutting trips," leaving thousands of commuters stranded.

The announcement was made by Deputy Commissioner and MCC Administrator Darshan HV during a public phone-in session. The move specifically targets routes where private bus service has become erratic, ensuring that citizens no longer have to rely on a fluctuating private sector for their daily commute.

Restoring the Govt Presence

The transport crisis was brought to the forefront by Ramayya, a resident of Bajal, who highlighted a growing trend of private buses skipping morning and night trips. With the previous KSRTC (govt) services discontinued, residents have been left without a fallback option.

To fix this, the DC confirmed that the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme will bring 100 government-owned electric buses to the city:

•    Phased Deployment: The first 50 of the new 100 government buses are scheduled to arrive by March 2026.

•    State Infrastructure: Two new government depots, including one at Mudipu, are being prepared for operations.

•    Recruitment: The state has already begun training a new batch of government bus drivers to ensure the fleet is operational the moment it arrives.
