Mangaluru, Jun 10: The body of a 45-year-old man from Uppinangady, who had gone missing eight days ago, was found in a highly decomposed state at AMR Dam in Shamboor in Bantwal taluk on Sunday. Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed that he was a party activist.

The police said that Ramesh Gowda, a native of Barya village in Belthangady, had left his house on June 2.
When he did not return, his family members searched for him at several places and they filed a missing complaint at the Uppinangady police station on June 3.
Ramesh’s body was found at a gate of the AMR Dam around 1 p.m. He was identified on the basis of tattoo on his hand that stated his name.
Following the Bantwal government hospital’s refusal to conduct a post-mortem, the body was taken to Government Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru where the autopsy was done.
