Mangaluru, Apr 6: Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader has said that chief minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday would launch 'Mission Indradhanush' in Bengaluru.

'Mission Indradhanush' is a health mission aimed at immunizing all children who are unvaccinated or are partially vaccinated against seven vaccine preventable diseases which include diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, measles and hepatitis B.
Khader said 78% of the children in state are covered under various vaccination programmes. Mission Indradhanush aims at bring the remaining 22% children, who are uncovered under vaccination programmes, in high risk areas like Kalaburagi, Yadagiri, Raichur, Koppala, Ballari and Bengaluru city including BBMP.
A total of 3,490 vaccination centres have been set up to cover 2,11,000 children from the high risk areas. In addition, 659 mobile vaccination units also have been arranged.
Pregnants, who are either unvaccinated or are partially vaccinated, will also be covered through the mission, he said adding that 18,201 pregnant women are identified under the programme in high risk areas.
