Shivamogga, Apr 11: KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi may have to go to jail one day in the Rafale case. Speaking to reporters in the city, he said that the Supreme Court order on Monday is very crucial. “The tragedy is that in this scam, PM Modi himself is the middleman,” he alleged.

“The income tax department has become the BJP’s I-T department. It is working like a BJP department. Today, people are losing confidence in various Central government agencies,” he said.

“The I-T department officers are working like BJP activists,” he charged.

He welcomed the Election Commission’s decision to ban the NaMo biopic and NaMo TV.

“No one really knows what is the real achievement of Modi as the Prime Minister in the past five years. One positive development is that youths today are realising that Modi has fooled them. There is a huge difference in what Modi had assured in 2014 and what he is talking now. People are understanding the truth,” he said.

He also pointed out why Modi is frequently referring to Pakistan. “Pakistan Prime Minister himself is saying that let BJP come to power. Because Pak plan is that if BJP comes to power it will become easier for the country to grab Kashmir,” he said.

“BJP is engaged in dividing this country. Modi claims that he is chowkidar. But shares dais with Yeddyurappa. Even today no one is aware why Modi implemented the demonetisation,” he said.

Dinesh stated that in Mandya, Mysuru and other Lok Sabha constituencies, former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, former chief minister Siddaramaiah and other leaders will campaign together. “In KR Nagar, which is part of Mandya Lok Sabha constituency, AICC president Rahul Gandhi himself will address a rally,” he said.

“The difference between Congress and JD(S) activists and leaders have been resolved. We are working together. Our aim is to win more than 22 Lok Sabha seats in the state,” he said.

Mangaluru, Dec 20: City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy has issued a high-alert warning to vehicle owners regarding a surge in cyber fraud targeting those looking to pay traffic violation fines. Fraudsters are reportedly exploiting recent government discount schemes on traffic penalties to deceive citizens.

The Scam: How Fraudsters Strike

Criminals are using SMS, WhatsApp, and social media to circulate suspicious links and APK files (Android application packages). They claim these apps allow users to pay e-challans at a discount.

•    Device Hacking: Downloading these unauthorized apps gives hackers full access to the victim's smartphone.

•    Financial Theft: Once the phone is compromised, fraudsters intercept OTPs and personal data to drain bank accounts.

•    Phishing Sites: Fake websites mimicking official portals are also being used to harvest banking credentials.

Already, two residents within Mangaluru city limits have reported significant financial losses after falling victim to these fraudulent apps.
