New Delhi, Oct 28: Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said on Monday that he would explain to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah regarding reports that his assets had almost doubled after he became union minister.

Dismissing media reports that Modi and Shah had sought his explanation, Gowda said œI will give details to both of them on my own in a couple of days .

œNeither anybody spoke to me nor asked for any explanation. Instead, I will explain in the same way I have clarified to the media on the issue, Gowda said.

œWhenever any complaint or allegation came against me, I have explained to the prime minister and party president. It is my duty to set the record straight on my own , he said.

Even when a Kannada film actress made an allegation against his son, he had explained to the top brass, the minister said.

Earlier, when I served as the chief minister of Karnataka, I used to explain to the party president without waiting for him to call me, whenever allegations or complaints were made against me or my government, Gowda said.

The National Election Watch and Association of Democratic Reforms had said that the net worth of Gowda's assets had increased from Rs 9.88 crore to Rs 20.35 crore in the last five months.

Gowda has clarified that the assets increased after he purchased a property in Bangalore, taking loan from Federal Bank.

The rental income of the property is being used to repay the loan, he said.

Mangaluru, Dec 15: Air India Express has announced that it will resume direct flight services between Mangaluru and Muscat from March 2026, restoring an important international air link for passengers from the coastal region.

Airport authorities said the service will operate twice a week—on Sundays and Tuesdays—from March 1. The initial flights are scheduled on March 3, 8 and 10, followed by March 15 and 17, with the same operating pattern to continue thereafter. The flight duration is approximately three hours and 25 minutes.

The Mangaluru–Muscat route was earlier operated under the 2025 summer schedule, with services beginning on July 14. At that time, Air India Express had operated four flights a week before suspending the service.

Officials said the summer schedule will come into effect from March 29, after which changes in flight timings and departure schedules from Mangaluru are expected. Passengers have been advised to check the latest schedules while planning their travel.

The resumption of direct flights to Muscat is expected to significantly benefit expatriates, business travellers and others, further strengthening Mangaluru’s air connectivity with the Gulf region.
