Nalapad is in judicial custody on charge of attempt-to-murder case for attacking Vidvat in a cafe on February 17.
Nalapad has been instructed to surrender his passport and to furnish a bond of Rs 2 lakh. He had allegedly attacked him along with his friends after an argument.
The victim, Vidwat, 28, had to be taken to the nearby Mallya Hospital for treatment. Later, Nalapad and his friends visited the hospital and threatened the victim and his friends against filing a police complaint.
Harris had applied for bail on March 14 and May 30 but both of them were categorically rejected by the 8th ACMM Court and the Bengaluru City and Civil Court.
The chargesheet filed by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) revealed that Nalapad provoked his aides with the intention of murdering Vidvat.
“I am a son of local MLA NA Haris. You are not even equal to my shoe. You say sorry and kiss my feet,” Nalapad is reported to have said before hitting him with glass bottles, ice buckets, and other items. Soon after, Nalapad had reportedly said, “If you don’t say ‘sorry’, then I will kill you here right now.”
Charges against Nalapad include an attempt to murder (section 307 of the Indian Penal Code), a section which was added two days after his arrest. The initial FIR against Nalapad was registered under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation), 143 and 144 (unlawful assembly), 146 and 147 (rioting), 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the IPC.
