Bangalore, Apr 16: In a bid to prevent the victory of communal forces in Karnataka several Muslim organizations have unanimously decided to back Congress in 25 seats and JD(S) in two seats out of 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state.

KMMM has decided to remain neutral in Bidar constituency, where number of Muslim voters exceeds five lakhs. It had initially urged the Congress to field a Muslim candidate from the party. However, Congress fielded sitting MP N Dharam Singh.
The list of candidates recommend by the KMMM in April 17 election is as follows: 1. Chikkodi-Prakash Hukkeri (Congress), 2. Belgaum - Lakshmi Hebbalkar (Congress), 3. Uttar Kannada- Prashanth Deshpande (Congress), 13. Davangere - S S Mallikarjun (Congress), 14. Shimoga-Byndoor - Geeta Shiv Rajkumar (JDS), 15. Udupi-Chikmagalur- K Jayprakash Hegede (Congress), 16. Hassan - H D Deve Gowda (JDS), 17. Dakshin Kannada- B Janardhana Poojary (Congress), 18. Chitradurga - B S Chandrappa (Congress), 19. Tumkur- Madu Hanume Gowda (Congress), 20.
