Mysuru, Mar 17: Intensifying probe into the murder of BJP activist Raju in Mysuru, the police detained a few suspects for questioning on Wednesday. However, no arrests have been made so far.

On the other hand videographers and photographers of various media houses were approached by the police for the footage to identify the rioters involved in Monday's violence in the city.
Apart from the case of Raju's murder booked by Udayagiri police, nine cases had been booked in four different police stations.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) HT Shekar said that the police were analysing the video footage and photographs of the violence to identify the troublemakers. Apart from the videos shot by the police videographer, the police had sought videos and photographs shot by the media.
The nine cases of violence booked by the police include the setting fire to an auto inside K.R. Hospital premises, arson at Devaraja market, attack on vendors on Ane Sarot road, damaging buses near suburban bus stand, setting fire to a two-wheeler on Shivaji Road, violation of prohibitory orders near Mandi Mohalla police station and damaging cars and police vehicle in its limits, damage to property belonging to Haleema Sadia Education Trust and stone-pelting on the mourners and the media.
With regard to the murder of Raju, Mr. Shekar said the police were not only questioning eyewitnesses, but also suspects. “We are hopeful of tracing the accused,” he said.
The assault on photojournalists was brought to the notice of Home Minister G. Parameshwara on Tuesday and he promised police protection to journalists covering protests.
Meanwhile the city police have extended prohibitory orders in Mysuru till the midnight of March 18.
