In a memorandum to the Governor, KCCI President Mohammed Ameen, stated that all the associations and organisations who are so called protectors of tradition and culture and have been involved in such acts repeatedly need to be banned.
He also said that every such organisation need to be made accountable by registering itself with the police department, the photographs and names of members in the police jurisdiction they are operating.
Mr Ameen said that the 'Law of the Land' should be implemented with speedy deterring punishment imparted on the culprits, so that the heinous crime is never repeated.
"The city of Mangalore witnessed a communal disturbance in September 2006, followed by an attack on a place of worship in September 2008. The pub attack on young women in January 2009 was disgraceful in every respect. This July 2012 incident has shocked the social fabric of this district. Educational Institutions, medical colleges, hospitals and nursing homes, tourism, hotels as well the building industries have suffered particularly for the past six years because of the fear psychosis inflicted in the minds of the citizens of Mangalore and those coming to Mangalore in pursuit of higher education," he pointed out.
Professionals who work the night shift should be provided with safety assurance, Ameen added.
“KCCI prays for your intervention towards good governance, peace, progress and prosperity to this district, region, state and country," he added.
