Death
The deceased is Deepika, a resident of Kondana, Kotekar and a II PUC Commerce student at St. Anns College, Mangalore.

Speaking to Coastaldigest.com, Thilak, Ms. Deepika's brother accused the doctors of JS Hospital, Kotekar of negligence which resulted in the death of his sister.

“She had never complained of malaria or jaundice and never in the past has she been admitted to a hospital for any ailment. On Friday, she started vomiting continuously and we admitted her to the hospital. Her vomiting was under control on Saturday evening but she continued to be weak. This morning at about 4 am I got a call that her situation had worsened and they took her to ICU. We were then told she was dead. She was not properly attended to by the doctor as well as his assistant. It is their negligence', Mr. Thilak said.

The body of the girl is currently in Wenlock Hospital for post mortem. A case has meanwhile been registered by the family of the girl against Dr. Vijayakumar of J S Hospital in Ullal Police Station.
