Addressing media persons at Press Club in Mangalore on Tuesday, Uttam Alva, President, ACSA, DK, said that even though Soujanya rape and murder case is being handled by the COD, no arrests have been made still, which is condemnable.
“The investigation agencies concerned are not revealing any piece of information to the public about the case. There is a clear negligence on the part of authorities. Even in connection to the Deepika murder case, in spite of ACSA visiting the Ullal police station trying to follow up on the investigation and urge for arrests of culprits, the response from the police has not been encouraging”, he said.
The negligence of police and investigative agencies in these cases is a matter of concern for the student community. In the coming days, an intensified campaign demanding justice for Soujanya and Deepika would be organized by the ACSA under the guidance of Esha Vittaladasa Swamiji, he added.
