Taking on the statement of Union Minister Veerappa Moily, Mr Bhandary in a press conference on Friday questioned the credibility of the Congress in making such statements against the BJP, when the Congress itself has been broken into more than ten factions over the past few days.
“Once the names of the candidates were out, the threat of rebellion loomed over the Congress. However, the senior Congress leaders kept chanting the hymns of unity while the partyworkers were already out on the streets,” he said adding that as far as the BJP is concerned, there has been no difference of opinion with regard to the candidates in the district.
He said that the BJP is on track and the preliminary round of campaigning is on with the committees in place and with the party workers doing the door-to-door campaigning for the candidates. The party workers' conventions have been held in Puttur, Sullia, Mangalore city and Moodabidri while the convention in Belthangady is slated for April 20.
“The BJP is a partyworker centric party and our strategy and discipline is our asset. There is lot of difference between other parties and the BJP. We do not have flow of money. Instead we have the flow of partyworkers, which works in our favour during the elections,” he said adding that they have fielded an efficient candidate in Bantwal.
“Fear of defeat is making the Congress candidate B Ramanath Rai drag RSS leaders into the election scenes,” he said, responding to a query.
