As per party policy, there won't be a deputy chief minister's post. Also, there will be no place for “tainted” leaders in the new dispensation. Interestingly, as per the list available with Deccan Herald, none of the members from the Legislative Council will make it into the ministry.
KPCC chief G Parameshwara is unlikely to figure in the ministry while H K Patil, T B Jayachandra and R V Deshpande are prominent among the 28 legislators who will become ministers. With intense pressure from aspirants, there is also a possibility of last-minute changes to the list, sources said.
The party also decided to keep senior leaders D K Shivakumar, Anil Lad and Roshan Baig away from ministership till they get their names cleared of various charges. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held at 10:30 am at Raj Bhavan Glass House. Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the ministers.
Congress chief Sonia Gandhi cleared the list of ministers in New Delhi on Friday in a meeting attended by Siddaramaiah. Though the names of several senior leaders were making the rounds as would-be ministers, there was no official confirmation from the party till late in the evening. The party leaders did not officially disclose the list to the media on Friday.

It is learnt that the high command has decided against the creation of the deputy chief minister's post, as demanded by Parameshwara. He was offered key portfolios which he was not ready to accept, it is said. His debacle as well as unsuccessful attempts in the Assembly elections by some of his associates in Bangalore, may not help Parameshwara when it comes to bargaining for what he wants. He will continue as the State party president and focus on forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, it is said. The party is learnt to have decided to make veteran leader Kagodu Thimmappa (82) the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. While Kagodu is reluctant to take up the responsibility and expressed his willingness to serve as a minister, efforts are on to convince him.
