The chief guest of the programme J.R Lobo, MLA Mangalore (south) said that the outgoing students must emphasise on inculcating the virtues of compassion and care. He stated the importance of rehabilitation in today's society and the importance of Health care for the poor and handicapped. He urged the Physiotherapy students to work with more empathy rather than focusing on commercial aspects. He also pledged his support for the formation of a Physiotherapy council in the State of Karnataka.
Dr M.Ramgopal Shetty, Secretary , Dr M.V.Shetty Memorial trust presided over the function and wished the outgoing physiotherapy students all the luck in their careers and to strive to constantly gain knowledge and skills in the field of Physiotherapy.
Dr Amit Sharma, Assistant Professor ITS college of Physiotherapy Ghaziabad, HOD Ishaan hospital Delhi, was the guest of honor on the occasion
Principal, Dr Gladson Jose welcomed the gathering, while Post Graduate and Graduate Co ordinator Dr Meryl Joe Colaco addressed the gathering.
Dr U.T Ifthikar Ali, Academic Council member, Dr Mohammad Suhail, Member Board of studies, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health sciences were present on the occasion.
A felicitation ceremony was also held for J.R Lobo on being elected MLA Mangalore South in the recent elections. The program was attended by over 500 physiotherapy students.
