Mangalore, May 29: Two persons indulging into looting the tourists at Panambur beach have been nabbed by the Panmabur police on Tuesday.

The arrested are Rahul from Harihara and Deepak from Kerala. It is said that on Monday night at about 8 pm, the duo had looted Rs 5,000 from a group of tourists from Davangere.

The modus operandi of the duo is quite smart to which any person will fall trap.

On Tuesday Chiranjeevi, a resident of Davangere had come to Panambur beach along with his friends. They had parked the car near Panambur Beach road and were resting inside the car, when Rahul and Deepak visited the tourists in guise of military officials and demanded for the documents of the vehicle and cash.

When the tourists said that they did not possess any cash, the fake officials drove them to Kuloor and then looted Chiranjeevi of his Rs 5,000 and took away an ATM card of one of the tourists. On reaching the ATM the fake officials found that there was no cash in the account. With this, the duo then came back to Panambur beach road, parked the vehicle near Nandaneshwara temple and escaped.

Suspicious over the behavior of the duo, Chiranjeevi approached the Panambur police and lodged a complaint on Tuesday. The brisk operations of the police lead to the duo falling into police net on the same day.
