
“We have decided to ban the gutka. We are not ready to bow to any pressure in this regard,” Mr Khader said speaking to media persons here on the sidelines of a private function.
“Those who oppose gutka ban in State, must visit cancer hospitals to realize its importance,” he added.
The minister pointed out that gutka consumption is one of the main reasons for cancer.
“We spend crores of rupees to find out appropriate medicine for cancer. Instead, it could be prevented by banning gutka completely,” he said.
The government would ban many harmful things that are injurious to health, Mr Khader said.
