“This has undoubtedly curbed the freedom of press. Though the former government had promised to withdraw the case, nothing has been done so far. While one of the journalists Naveen Soorinje has been granted bail by the High Court, another media representative Sharan has been behind bars since six months. The Government has to withdraw the cases registered against the two,” the delegation of journalists said.
Association President P B Harish Rai, General Secretary Srinivas Indaje, Treasurer Yogish Holla, Mangalore Press Club President Ramakrishna R and general secretary Kiran Sirsikar met the Minister.
