Mangalore, Jul 5: Dakshina Kannada district this year is seeing a flood situation that has not shown up in the district for the last one decade and gauging the extent of loss of lives and damage to property, the Government should immediately come forth to release the compensation, said MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Addressing the reporters after having a look at the caricatures and cartoons on display at Mangalore Press Club, organized as a part of the Press Day celebration, on Friday, Mr Kateel said that apart from the compensation the government should also open enough gruel centres for the temporary accommodation of those who have lost their house in the calamity.
The MP lauded the cartoonists for their expression of various political and national issues in an unconventional manner.
