Mangalore, Jul 9: Two armed miscreants who gained entry into a house in broad day light, shot gunshots at the residents of the house in a bid to save themselves after failed robbery attempt, on the outskirts of the city.
The incident took place at around noon on Tuesday at a house in Devinagar, Talapady, around 20 kms from here.
Keshava, a retired government employ had recently constructed a new house adjacent to his old house at Devinagar.
On Tuesday noon, two miscreants who came on a motorbike entered the newly built house of Keshava, where his wife was engaged in some work.
When the miscreants found nothing in the new house, they tried to enter the old house.
Sensing the threat, Keshava, who was at the old house came out with a stick to attack the miscreants.
Confused miscreants, fired a gun shot and fled the scene. More details awaited.
