Mangalore, Jul 16: Students of various polytechnic colleges in Mangalore participated in a demonstration organised by the district unit of All College Students Association (ACSA) in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office here on Tuesday, protesting against the Vishwesharaiah Technological University (VTU) for the cancellation of a favourable carry-over system in polytechnic courses.
As per the latest decision of the Directorate of Technical Education, a student who had failed in five or more subjects was not qualified to be admitted to the third or fifth semester from the academic year 2013-14.
