
“I have discussed the same with the CM and the state will see some allocation in the budget for the same,” said Mr Khader inaugurating the 'Prathibha Puraskar' for children of Group D workers, organized by District Group D Workers' Association at NGO Hall, in Mangalore on Sunday.
Mr Khader opined that there is a need to include the government workers under health insurance scheme.
“Government employees lead a very calculated life within limited resources. In such a case even if one member of family falls sick, the entire family faces the consequence financially. Health insurance for them will come as a blessing,” he said adding that the work of the Group D is often not appreciated.
“It is the responsibility of the administrative classes to ensure well-being of the Group D section,” he said

Meanwhile, Mamatha, Asha and Nirmala D'Souza, who secured various degrees, were felicitated.
Mr Khader distributed the monetary aid to various Group D Workers for their medical expenses. The funds were raised by the Group D workers themselves to lend a helping hand to their ailing colleagues.
Group D Workers' Association state committee General Secretary H Narasimhamurthy presided.
MLA J R Lobo, office bearers of the Association among others were present.
