Bantwal, Jul 30: In a tragic road mishap ten person including six children were injured after a KSRTC bus ran over them in a bid to overtake a vehicle on NH 48.
The injured are Nishmitha (16), a resident of Peramogaru, Ashika (9) of Gadiyara, Shoib (16), Sanku (48), Vinutha (16) of Biliyur, Hemanth (15), Meenakshi (30) of Kedila, Irshad (14), Mohammed (38) and Mohammed Naufal (15) of Perne.
Accident took place on Monday morning when a KSRTC bus plying towards Subrahmanya from Mangalore ran over school children waiting at a bus stop, near Perne in Bantwal.
The bus came to a halt after it hit a compound wall nearby.
The bus shelter has been completely damaged. More than 50 students were waiting for the bus in the bus shelter when the accident occured.
Two are severely injured.
They have been admitted to a private hospital here.
Passengers in the bus have not suffered any injury.
A case has been registered with Bantwal rural police.
