Kasargod, Jul 30: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the Manjeswaram police station was arrested on Monday while accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000.

A team of Vigilance Department sleuths, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Babu, arrested K.D. Sebastian when he was accepting Rs.5,000 as the second instalment of a bribe from Moideen Kunhi and his family who were involved in a case in connection with a dispute over a lane.
A complaint filed with the Vigilance Department said Mr. Sebastian was paid a bribe of Rs.5,000, as sought by him, to exclude Siddique, Moideen Kunhi's younger brother who is employed in a shipping company, from the case to help him join duty.
