It is learnt that years ago court had ordered SI Mahesh Prasad to appear and produce witness in court but SI had failed to produce document and witness.
However Bantwal rural sub inspector neglected court order and repeated the mistake when the court served show cause notice to him. When he failed to appear before the court, police department was also asked to direct sub inspector to court.
When he failed to follow court order, court served him warrant. On Wednesday Mahesh Prasad in order to respect warrant appeared in court without witness and document.
Therefore the court remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days and as the source says he was released on bail with the help of higher police officials.
However, the SI in question has said that the atrocity had happened in his absence and the fact is that he had not even taken charge then.
This incident has proved that even the cops cannot escape from law.
