Mangalore, Aug 6: A fishing boat owned by Mohan Mendon and carrying eight fishermen capsized at the river mouth of Mangalore Old Port at about 1 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
Fortunately, all the eight fishermen were rescued and pulled to safety by locals.
Owned by Mohan Menon, the boat 'Nimmi Kalyani' encountered rough waves while entering the sea from the port and was soon filled with water. Luckily, fishermen from another fishing boat 'Sagar Kusum' sailing nearby spotted the drowning fishermen, and hurriedly pulled them aboard.
The rescued fishermen were brought back ashore.
A case has been registered at Panambur police station.
