In a press release DYFI District President Muneer Katipalla has said that during the protest the leaders had made provocative speech, which could lead to communal tension.
Commenting on the speech made by Bajrang Dal leader Manjunath Mandya, Mr Katipalla said that he had given a call to take law into hands and hence the police department must consider the same seriously and initiate criminal case against the organizers and Mr Manjunath and arrest them.
Mr Katipalla said that the BJP and the Sangh Parivar are creating tension keeping cattle trade as focal point.
“Cattle theft used to happen even when the BJP was in power. The Sangha Parivar, which kept mum during the BJP rule is now making hue and cry after losing power,” he said adding that the whole intention behind these acts is to create drift between Hindus and Muslims.
“The BJP and Sangha members are making provocative speeches almost every other day and at Surathkal one of the leaders has given a call to slay the cattle traders. Though the policemen were present, they did not act at the situation. Mr Muthalik too has made a similar statement. The Congress government at the state is also not doing anything to curb such a trend,” he said predicting that the Sangha is all set to create communal unrest in the region soon.
