Mangalore, Jul 9: Mangalore City Corporation has finally got a new commissioner. K Ajith Hegde, who was serving as commissioner of Mangalore Urban Development Authority, has been posted as the new MCC commissioner.
Renuka Prasad is expected to replace Mr Hegde as MUDA Commissioner.
Mr Hegde, who is expected to formally take charge as the new commissioner of the civic body said that he would take all necessary steps for the development of the city.
A known face in Mangalore, Mr Hegde was MUDA commissioner since 2011.
He had served as joint commissioner of Mangalore being transferred as chief administrator of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board.
Hegde also had served as financial controller in Karnataka Rural Roads Development Organization, Bangalore.
The post of MCC Commissioner was vacant for more than a month after the transfer of former Commissioner Harish Kumar.
Mr Kumar was transferred last month and posted as Secretary to Minister for Urban Development Vinay Kumar Sorake in May end.
