Belagavi, Sept 7: Within a gap of one month, North Karnataka is reeling under severe flood situation following heavy discharge from Reservoirs in Maharashtra where heavy down pour is reported in catchment areas.
Following heavy discharge, many major rivers including Krishna, Doodganga, Vedganga rivers are overflowing and Ghataprahba, Malaprabha, Naveeltheertha Reservoirs are receiving heavy inflow and water levels have almost reached danger marks. About 1.70 lakh cusecs of water was released to river Krishna from Koyana reservoir in Maharashtra.
People who were recovering from Floods and rain under the influence of South West Monsoon just a one month back are again forced to spend sleep less nights. Most of the affected, who were taking shelter in Rehabilitation Centres, are yet to return as the nature's fury again hitting them. Most of the people who left the gruel centers are finding it difficult to fund their houses since almost all have collapsed and it is becoming difficult to locate as only debris are lying.
