Bengaluru, March 13: Rajya Sabha member K?Rahman Khan has said the State government had rightly rejected the Karnataka State Minorities Commission report on the Wakf scam as the panel had not sought any clarification from the people concerned and the State Wakf Board.

The remarks come in the wake of BJP leader K?S?Eshwarappa recently stating that many Congress leaders, including Khan, were involved in the scam and hence the Congress government had set aside the action taken report on the Anwar Manippady report on the Wakf scam.
Khan claimed that neither he nor any of his family members were involved in encroaching on or taking any Wakf properties. In the Windsor Manor hotel case, he said he was to be the auditor of Aga Ali Asker Wakf Trust and he had appeared before the quasi judicial authority as a chartered accountant in 1971-72.
At that time, he was not holding any public office and had nothing to do with the Manor property.
The Manippady Committee never sought any clarification from him nor gave him any opportunity to clarify during the inquiry, Khan said.
