Speaking at an interaction with the party members at a discussion organised by AAP district unit here on Monday, he said that rather than being considered as a national party, the party should be considered as a national movement and voice out on the irregularities by public servants.
Corruption is like a symptom, and there should be a serious and extended fight against corruption and exploitation of poor. There should be a dialogue with political leaders and public servants as to why the negative impact on the people is disregarded by them, in the interest of making money, he said, adding that the primary responsibility of debating on this should be taken by the government.
He said that where there was irrefutable evidence confirming the wrongdoings of any public servant, they should be jailed.
Responding to a query, he said that the fight against corruption should not be limited only during the onset of elections, but should be a part of everyday affairs. “The voice and participation of the public should be greater with regard to the political setup in the democracy. We all desire an alternative system, but it is difficult to implement it in our lives. There should be a serious debate on what is necessary for the country,” he said, adding that the role of the media was also important in exposing scams and lending support to the public movement against corruption.
