Mangaluru, Dec 20: Swashbuckling Karkala Gladiators batsman K B Pawan blasted an unbeaten 125 in just 60 balls to steer his side to a comfortable four wicket victory against Red Hawks Kudla on the second day of Mangalore Premiere League cricket clash at Dr B R Ambedkar Stadium, Panambur, here on Monday.
Batting first, Red Hawks Kudla posted 181/5 in 20 overs, thanks to Rahul K's 46 off 26 balls and Mohtisim's 47 off 41 balls.
In reply, the hard-hitting opener unleashed his batting skills as he struck 18 authoritative boundaries and 4 massive sixes to take his team to victory as the team scored 182/6 in 19 overs.
Chasing a challenging target, the Karkala Gladiators got off to a disappointing start losing opener Ajit N at an early stage when his score was just 15. Ironically, except Naville P (11* off 5 balls), none of the top and middle order batsmen reached double digit.
However, Pawan single handedly changed the course of the game and brutally punished all the bowlers of Red Hawks Kudla. Interestingly, it was Pawan's birth day.
