Pedal power comes to the fore as hundreds participate in RxLife Cycle Rally

Mangalore, Dec 9: The 7th RxLife BSA Hercules Cycle Rally was flagged off on December 8 from Ladyhill Circle. The Rally was flagged off by Susanth, Regional Manager of TI Cycle of India Ltd ; K Ullas Kamath, Joint Managing Director Jyothi Laboratories Ltd.; Vijay Simha Vice President Sriram Chits Ltd, S Mukund Kamath Ideal Ice Cream group; Sri Arun kumar , Area Sales Manager Karnataka , TI Cycle; Sri Dinakar BS, Regional Manager Sriram Chits Ltd.; Sri Badrinath Nayak , Partner Jyothi cycle Co.; Amrith Kini , Advocate.

This year Rxlife cycle rally saw 1751 registered riders and about 150 wild cat entries, all aged between 7 to 83 years. The streets of Mangalore were filled with more than 2000 cyclists.

The Rally took off from Lady hill, covering a distance of 18Kms. passing through Kottara – Kuloor –Tannir bavi Beach Road – Kottara Chowki – Malemar Road – Derebail – Bejai and concluded at Bharath Mall at 8.30 A.M.

Lucky Draw was held in the end at Bharath Mall Where Swaroop Kotiyan won the 'Hercules Sparx' cycle ; Vaishak shetty won the 'Hercules Gravity' ; Tapasvi won the BSA Lady Bird and Rajath Kamath won the 'Hercules Dirt Rider'; Venu Bhandary won the 'Hercules Rodeo'. There were many other prizes for lucky winners from various Shops and Hotels of the city.

Water points, orange points, Juice and dry fruit point, Ambulance and first aid team from KSHEMA, Cycle Rescue Vans and Pilot jeep were arranged.

The Rally is sponsored by BSA Hercules, Ideal Ice Cream, Shriram Chits, HPCL, Karnataka Bank Ltd. Logistic support was given by Jyoti Cycle Co. and STS Event Management Team.

Volunteers from Youth Hostels Association of India, Team Mangalore, Sicasa Mangalore – Ca Student's Association, RxLife managed the traffic enroute and were assisted by parents of the participants.

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru CEN police have arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly posting provocative and misleading content on an Instagram page named “mr_a_titude”, targeting the Bajpe police.

Mangaluru Commissioner of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy C H identified the arrested as Abhishek M, a resident of Katipalla in Mangaluru.

A case has been registered at the Bajpe Police Station under Sections 353(1)(c), 353(2), 56, and 57 read with Section 189 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in connection with the post.

According to police, the accused uploaded a photograph of a hotel on the Instagram page and alleged that accused persons in a murder case under the Bajpe police jurisdiction were being given “royal treatment” by the police, including being served beef meals daily from the hotel.

The post further accused the police of supporting criminals, misusing their authority, and betraying public trust. Police said the content was provocative in nature and aimed at inciting public outrage against the police.

Following the post, a case was registered at the Bajpe police station, and further investigation was transferred to the CEN police station.

Police records indicate that the accused has a criminal history, with multiple cases registered against him, including murder, attempt to murder, assault, and robbery at the Surathkal Police Station, and one case at the Kaup Police Station.

The Commissioner said the accused was traced and arrested using technical evidence.
