Mangalore, Jul 15: Pejawar Mutt pontiff Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji has revealed that he would be embarking on a year-long all India pilgrimage within a few months.
Speaking to media persons during his tulabhara ritual organized by Kalkura Pratishthana in the city on Tuesday evening, the seer said that he would launch the pilgrimage from Badari, a historic place in Uttara Kananda district of Karnataka.
He said that prior to his pilgrimage he would be observing Chaturmasya Vratha in Mumbai from July 22 to September 8.
Gearing up for Paryaya
Speaking about the impending paryaya of Udupi Krishna Mutt, the 83-year-old seer said that it would be his fifth Paryaya and he would be the first pontiff in the Mutt to attain five Paryayas.
The veteran Swamiji said that the improvisation of tourist facilities should be given priority during the upcoming Paryaya.
He said that amidst all other new facilities, a research centre would be established at a cost of Rs 5 crore, wherein emphasis would be given for the translation of the works of Madhwacharya to Hindi and English.
A new residential school, Ananda Theertha Vidyalaya, will also be established in Pajaka, the birthplace of Madhwacharya, he said.
