Mangaluru, Dec 15: Unsatisfied with chief minister Siddaramiah's decision to handover the alleged sexual escapade of former excise minister MY Meti, veteran Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary has demanded a CBI inquiry into the case.

Speaking to media persons in Mangaluru, the former union minister, who has been constantly criticising the Siddu govt's way of functioning in recent months, said that Meti's resignation is not sufficient to cleanse the ruling party.
“CM should drop two more ministers and three MLAs supposedly involved in sex allegations similar to that of Meti,” said Poojary while responding to the claim of Ballari based RTI activist Rajashekar that there are CDs of similar nature involving ministers and MLAs.
Asserting that the CM knew about the Meti tapes and was buying time for his confidant, Poojary said it is height of foolishness to assume Siddaramaiah had no information about the same. It is also amusing to think that CM has no information about ministers and MLAs that Rajashekar has talked about, Poojary said adding it is imperative that CM drop them from the cabinet and party chief and home minister G Parameshwara expel such party MLAs forthwith.
Reminding Siddaramaiah that the party high command has given him a long rope, Poojary advised the CM to ensure that it does not twine around his own neck. Noting that he has a lurking feeling that CM will get caught in a trap of his own making, Poojary exhorted him to not let this happen. "Show your power and commitment to people of the state by living up to party's pre-poll promise of giving clean and transparent administration and drop the tainted ministers," he said.
On reports that some ministers close to CM were also being probed by the Enforcement Directorate for possible money laundering, Poojary said Siddaramaiah must act against them now rather than later.
Reminding CM that it was Congress that took out padayatra to Ballari on issue of corruption, Poojary said the time has come to live up to this assurance given to the electorate. "We must clean up the system and assure people that the honest have a place in society," he noted.
