The complexes were being constructed in three districts. Administrative sanction had been given for the construction of the complexes in two districts, while eight districts did not have these. Similarly, of a total of 178 taluks in the State, 128 taluks had mini Vidhan Soudhas which housed the Tahsildar’s Office and other departmental offices. The mini Vidhan Soudhas were coming up in 20 taluk headquarters.

Administrative approval had been given for the construction of the mini Vidhan Soudhas in 12 taluk headquarters. As many as 18 taluks did not have them because of lack of availability of proper land. The government was providing Rs. 25 crore for the construction of the complexes and Rs. 10 crore for the construction of mini Vidhan Soudhas. The mini Vidhan Soudha here had been constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.15 crore. An additional amount of Rs. 6 crore would be given for the extension works of the mini Vidhan Soudha here.

People in the rural areas of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts were facing difficulty in selling and purchasing land due to the problems in issuing Forms 9 and 11 of Karnataka Panchayat Raj Rules (Taxes and Fees). There were also problems relating to the ownership of ‘Kumki land’ in these districts. He would soon call a meeting of legislators.
