Bantwal, Jul 1: In an amusing case, a woman from Bantwal taluk has filed a complaint against a television show alleging that she was cheated of a brand new car after depositing Rs 1.19 lakhs in a contest.

In her complaint, she has said that viewers of a television show were asked to identify the face of a popular cine personality displayed on the television screen to win a prize in the contest.
Roopashree had reportedly replied to the television show with the name of the personality, following which she received a telephone call from a person named Gulshan Kumar on June 2 announcing that she had won a brand new car in the contest for sending the correct answer.
She was directed by the same caller to deposit a sufficient sum of money to a bank account in order to collect her prize. Accordingly, Roopashree deposited a sum of Rs 1.19 lakhs on June 20 in three different bank accounts mentioned by the caller.
In her complaint to the police, she has alleged that she had not received the delivery of her car. Dismayed over this, she had filed a cheating case at the police station.
