Bengaluru, Dec 22: Dissatisfaction among the senior leaders and protests by their supporters marked the Congress high command’s decision to effect the much awaited Cabinet expansion in Karnataka on Saturday.
Congress decided to induct eight new ministers by dropping two from the Ministry in the JD(S)-Congress coalition Government but the leaders and their supporters were unimpressed.
Though the list of new ministers was not officially announced, the eight names was made known from the office of Mr Siddaramaiah, the CLP leader and Chairman of the coordination committee of the coalition government.
While Congress has six berths under its quota vacant in the Cabinet, Janata Dal(S) has two. JD(S) has decided not to fill the vacancies fearing dissidence.
