Mangaluru, Apr 4: Rajesh Gowda, a 26-year-old youth from Dakshina Kananda district, who had stranded in Sana’a, the capital of strife-torn Yemen finally reached home safe on Saturday.
Chennappa Gowda and Ratna, residents of Kodimala in Kadaba of Puttur taluk, breathed a sigh of relief after seeing their son at Mangaluru Central Railway Station.
Mr Rajesh, who was working as a heating, ventilation and airconditioning (HVAC) engineer in Sana’a, had gone incommunicado since Friday morning, leaving the family in tension.
He had informed the family on Friday morning that Indians had received a message saying that they should come to the Indian Embassy office in Yemen. After that the family members could not contact him.
However, Rajesh was one among the group of 330 Indian nationals arrived at Kochi International Airport. The special flight with 330 passengers on board landed at around 12.30 a.m.
Rajesh boarded a train at Kochi at a couple of hours after his arrival and reached Mangaluru on Saturday afternoon.
