Bengaluru, Jun 5: Congress president Rahul Gandhi is holding a meeting with party leaders from Karnataka on Tuesday in New Delhi to finalise the names of MLAs to be inducted into the Council of Ministers in the H D Kumaraswamy government.
Rahul returned from a tour of the US early on Tuesday, sources said.
The leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha, Mallikarjuna Kharge, former chief minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC president G Parameshwara and other senior leaders are taking part in the meeting.
AICC general secretary in-charge of Karnataka K C Venugopal held a meeting with state leaders on Tuesday.
Since Rahul is keen on inducting young faces into the ministry, leaders are trying to balance region and caste equations while selecting young leaders for ministerial berths, sources said.
However, several senior leaders, including H K Patil, H M Revanna, R V Deshpande and Amaregouda Bayyapur, are camping in the national capital to lobby for ministerial berths.
The list is expected to be finalised by tonight (Tuesday), sources added.
