Bengaluru, Nov 30: Just when Bengaluru thought it got a relief from incessant rain, parts of the State capital saw downpours resuming on Sunday.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, such weather is likely to continue for the next five days.

An on-duty officer at the Met department said the City would experience moderate rainfall for the next four to five days. “We are not expecting heavy rain like what we had witnessed earlier this month,” the officer said. The month of November has been one of the wettest the City has seen for a long time.

The latest drizzles have been caused by the onset of Northeast Monsoon and formation of a low-pressure over the Bay of Bengal. “Generally cloudy sky. Rain or shower would occur.

Maximum and Minimum temperatures would be around 25 and 18 degree Celsius, respectively,” according to a Met department update.

However, the good news for those travelling during this time is that there would be not much fog in the City. It may be recalled that several flights were cancelled on Saturday because of a thick fog.

But the bad news for the citizens is that the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s attempts to fill the potholed roads might be disrupted by the rain.

Mangaluru, Dec 20: City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy has issued a high-alert warning to vehicle owners regarding a surge in cyber fraud targeting those looking to pay traffic violation fines. Fraudsters are reportedly exploiting recent government discount schemes on traffic penalties to deceive citizens.

The Scam: How Fraudsters Strike

Criminals are using SMS, WhatsApp, and social media to circulate suspicious links and APK files (Android application packages). They claim these apps allow users to pay e-challans at a discount.

•    Device Hacking: Downloading these unauthorized apps gives hackers full access to the victim's smartphone.

•    Financial Theft: Once the phone is compromised, fraudsters intercept OTPs and personal data to drain bank accounts.

•    Phishing Sites: Fake websites mimicking official portals are also being used to harvest banking credentials.

Already, two residents within Mangaluru city limits have reported significant financial losses after falling victim to these fraudulent apps.
