One kilo of rice costs Rs 35, sugar costs Rs 34, tea powder costs Rs 180, chillies cost Rs 170. These are some of the daily commodities and its costs prevailing at present. The costs were quite lesser a month ago and with the beginning of Ramadan, the costs have gone up drastically.
The tale of fruits is also the same. One kilo of black grapes costs Rs 35, green grapes cost Rs 50, apples cost Rs 140, Chikku cost Rs 30, sweet lime is Rs 45 per kg, banana costs Rs 50, oranges Rs 40. A month ago the costs were lesser by 10-15 rupees.
The rise in electricity tariff, rise in cooking gas costs and all have made life of common man difficult. The situation is not just confined to cities. It is the same even in rural areas.
