'The Right Choice' to help Class 10 students choose the right career - T3HM

Mangalore, Oct 30: As part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR), The 3 Hungry Men (T3HM) will conducting The Right Choice' – a career guidance programme for Class 10 students along with a separate workshop for parents on parenting skills to handle adolescents on Saturday.

The event is open for all students studying in Class 10 and their parents. It will be held at Vikas PU College, Maryhill on the outskirts of Mangalore city.

Briefing at a press conference here on Thursday, co-founder of T3HM Nikhil Pai said that the career guidance workshop aimed at putting an end to confusion among Class 10 students about which career or stream to choose after their final examinations. Career guidance was a must to prevent students from choosing the wrong stream, he said.

Apart from career guidance, a session on - How to score 100/100 will be conducted for students by motivational speaker Ananth Prabhu. It will be followed by a workshop for parents on better parenting skills conducted by Director of HRD at St Aloysius College, Mangalore Prof Sureshnath, he said.

Apart from the workshops, there will also be other fun games like quiz, drawing competition and minute to win it' games for the students, he added.

Another co-founder Colin D'Souza said that they had kept the registration for students and parents as they wanted nothing holding them back. Students can freely choose which session they want to attend or which competition they would like to participate in, he said.

The event will be held in association with Hangyo Ice Creams and Fortune Oil as an attempt to bring out something new for their annual CSR event.

The registration is free for students as well as parents and the last date for registering is October 31.

Udupi, Dec 15: What was meant to be a post-pilgrimage gathering turned tragic in Padukere village of Brahmavar taluk, Udupi district, late Sunday night, when a clash among youths escalated into a fatal assault, leaving one man dead.

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Santosh Mogaveera, a resident of Padukere.

According to preliminary information, the incident took place during a late-night drinking party involving a group of local youths who had recently returned after completing their pilgrimage to the Sabarimala shrine. An argument reportedly broke out among the group and soon escalated into a violent confrontation.

During the ensuing brawl, Santosh Mogaveera was allegedly assaulted and collapsed at the spot after sustaining serious injuries. He was rushed by local residents to a private hospital in Brahmavar, where doctors declared him dead.

On receiving information, senior police officials, including Brahmavar Circle Inspector Gopikrishna, Kota Police Sub-Inspector Praveen Kumar T, Station ASI Manthesh Jabagoudar, and head constables Pradeep and Ashok, visited the spot and conducted an inspection.

Police have taken four youths into custody in connection with the incident. A case has been registered at the Kota police station, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events leading to the death.
