Rotary Vandana Awards conferred on Jayaram Bhat, Manohar Prasad

Mangaluru, Mar 25: Eminent Banker, Managing Director of Karnatka Bank Jayaram Bhat and Chief of News Bureau Udayavani Kannada daily Manohar Prasad were conferred with the Rotary Annual State level prestigious “Vandana Award” at a function held on 24.03.2017 at Hotel Moti Mahal. This Award is jointly instituted by Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and Rotaract Club of Mangaluru City.

Member of Parliament Nalin Kumar Kateel graced the occasion as chief guest, presented the Award to the achievers and congratulated them. Mangaluru City Mayor Kavitha Sanil was the Guest of honour. The award was presented to Mr. Bhat in recognition of his exemplary achievements in the field of Banking and to Mr. Prasad in appreciation of his significant life time contributions in the field of Journalism.

Chairman of the Award selection committee Dr. Devdas Rai in his introductory address revealed that the Annual Vandana Award is Conferred on achievers and it is a part of clubs vocational service. He Congratulated Mr. Jayaram Bhat on his unique achievements in Banking Sector, and Manohar Prasad for his invaluable contributions in the field of journalism.

Responding to the felicitations Mr. Bhat revealed that, he is elated to accept the Award and expressed this gratitude to Rotary club. Mr. Manohar Prasad said that he deemed it as a honour to accept the Award. which he feels very valuable among the awards he already received. He thanked the Rotary Club for presenting this award

President Rtn. Anil Gonsalves, presided, Zonal lieutenant Rtn. Elias Sanctis Released the weekly Club news bulletin “Centor” Rotary Club Secretary Rtn. Raymond D’Cunha, Rotaract Dist Representative Rtr. Miss Hitaishi, Rotaract Club President Rtr. Yathish Salian, were present on the dais. Rotaract Club Secretary Rtr. Shivprasad Proposed the Vote of Thanks. Rtn. Nithin Shetty and Rtn. R.S.Shettian sponsored this event.

Melkar (Bantwal): The 9th Annual Day celebration of SMR Public School, titled “EXCELLENTIA”, was held on December 15 with great enthusiasm and dignity, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s journey towards academic excellence and holistic development.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. U. T. Iftikar Ali. The chief guests were Dr. Akhtar Hussain, Mr. P. Moosabba Beary, Mr. Zakaria Jokattre, and Dr. T. M. Abdul Rahuf—whose inspiring addresses motivated the students and appreciated the school’s contributions to education.

Mr. Abdul Nasir, Mr. Ibrahim Gadiyar, Mr. Razak Golthamajal, Mr. Sali Koya, Mr. Arshad Hussain, Mr. Ismail Balanoor, Mr. Feroz Bawa, Mr. Sahul Hameed, Mr. Abubakkar, Mr. Hameed K. Mani, Mr. Abdul Majeed (Principal, Melkar Women’s College), and Mr. Abdul Lathief (Former Principal, Melkar Women’s College) were the guests of honour.

The Annual Report was presented by the Headmistress, Ms. Fathimathul Zaheera, highlighting the school’s achievements and progress during the academic year. The Presidential Address was delivered by the Chairman of SMR Public School, Dr. Haji S. M. Rasheed, who emphasised the vital role of education in shaping students’ futures and stressed the importance of discipline, dedication, and consistent effort in achieving 100 per cent academic results.

Secretary of SMR Public School, Mr. Rifath Ahmed, and PTA President, Mr. Sandeep Kumar, were also present on the occasion.

The Annual Day celebration showcased the collective efforts of students and teachers and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to quality education and all-round development. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, parents, and well-wishers for their support. The 9th Annual Day—EXCELLENTIA—was a memorable and successful event, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.
