Bengaluru, Nov 19: Senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Pracharak K Suryanarayana Raotoday passed away at a private hospital in Bengaluru due to a brief illness. He was 93.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled his death through Twitter. Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu, who is currently in Karnataka, BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa, were among those who havecondoled the death of Mr Rao.
Born on August 20, 1924 at Mysuru, Mr Rao joined RSS as a Swayamsevak at the age of 18 and became a full time Pracharak in 1946.
He was Prantha Pracharak of Tamil Nadu from 1971 to 1984 and then he was Kshetra Pracharak,comprising Andhra, Tamilnadu, Kerala and Karnataka upto 1990. Subsequently he was assigned the responsibility as Akhila BharathiyaSeva Pramukh.
He had extensively toured all parts in the country for the development of Seva Projects and abroad including US, Trinidad, Canada, England, Germany, Holland, Norway, East Africa, Kenya, Malaysia, Singaporeand Nepal to consolidate the Hindu activities there.
Later he was a member of the Akhila Bharathiya Karyakari Mandaland had the responsibility of looking after Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Vanavasi Kalyana Ashram, National Medico's Organization Arogya Bharathi, Seva international and Samskri Bharathi.
