Mangaluru, Jan 22: Mohammed Saqib Bengaluru has been elected president of state unit of Popular Front of India (PFI) at its state general assembly held at Puttur from January 18 to 20.

Outgoing general secretary presented a detailed report on the programmes and activities of the organization in last two years.
The new office bearers for the Karnataka state unit of PFI for the next two years were selected on the occasion.
While Mohammed Saqib Bengaluru was unanimously chosen as the president, Abdul Khader Puttur and yasir Hasan were selected as vice-president and general secretary respectively. Mohammed Khwaja Muhsinuddin Gulbarga was chosen as treasurer.
Shareef Kodaje, Riyaz Pasha, Aslam Hasan, Nasir Pasha, Mohammed Kakkinje, Maulana Usman Beig Rashadi, Nisar Ahmed Udupi, Abdul Majeed Thumbe, Shafi Bellare, Mohammed Iqbal Nandarabettu, Ayyoob Agnady, Fairoz Ahmed Kolara and Mohammed Ilyas Bengaluru were chosen as the state committee members.
PFI national chairman K M Shareef, national executive committee members Anees Ahmed Bengaluru and OMA Salam Kerala were present in the meeting as observers. The newly elected president delivered valedictory address.
