Bengaluru, Jan 9: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president G Parameshwara was embarrassed by his own party colleague who called him a lackey at a party conference, here at the party HQ in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Senior party leader Vaijnath Patil called Parameshwara "chamcha" (lackey) at a press conference here on Tuesday.

"Aye adhyaksha...aye chamcha..." Patil shouted as Parameshwara was walking out of the conference room at the Congress headquarters on Queen's Road.

Patil's grouse is that his son Vikram was not given a ticket to contest the upcoming Assembly polls.

Patil complained that the party gave tickets to sons of former Chief Minister Dharam Singh and senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge.

Patil, 80, was president of the Hyderabad-Karnataka Horata Samiti that spearheaded the campaign for special status to the Bidar, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Ballari and Kalaburgi districts under Article 371J of the Constitution.

His son Vikram was former chairperson of the Mysore Sales International Limited (MSIL).
