Mangaluru, Sep 8: A minor girl has lodged a complaint at Uppinangady police station, alleging that she was threatened by a member of local taluk panchayat and two unidentified women, demanding the withdrawal of a case on a teacher registered under the POCSO Act.

Few days ago, the girl had lodged a complaint alleging that a high school teacher named Harish Moolya had sexually harassed her during a school excursion taken by the class in the previous academic year.
In this regard, a case was registered at Uppinangady police station under sections of the POCSO Act.
Now, the girl lodged another complaint accusing a taluk panchayat member named Manjunath Salian, who is legally representing the accused Harish Moolya, and two unknown women of threatening to outrage her modesty if she did not withdraw the case of sexual harassment against the accused on August 29.
According to the complaint, Manjunath Salian and the two women called her to the kitchen at the school and threatened her.
Belthangady police have registered a case and begun an investigation in this regard.
