Mangalore, Jan 10: The Kerala government presented an NRI businessman Sheikh Bawa, partner of Hindustan Builders with the prestigious 'Pravasi Bharatiya Udyog' Award at an award ceremony in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.
The award was presented by former Kerala Irrigation Minister N K Premachandran on the occasion of National Tourism Day which was observed on January 9, at a programme organised by Kerala State Tourism Department in Thiruvananthapuram.
On the occasion, Kerala Legislative Assembly speaker G Karthikeyan, Social Welfare Minister M K Muneer, Finance Minister K M Mani and others were present.
From the past 20 years, Sheikh Bawa has been working in Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Limited in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is a partner of Mangalore and Kasargod-based Hindustan Builders.
Sheikh Bawa has been active in organisations in welfare organisations and was conferred the award in recognition of his service in the social and cultural sphere.
