Bengaluru, Dec 13: The sudden return of Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, cutting short his foreign tour have fueled speculation that he was asked to return immediately by the Party High Command, following Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party’s continued effort to woo the disgruntled Congress and the JD(S) members.
According to party sources, Siddaramaiah, who had gone to Malaysia on Monday for a five day stay to attend marriage in his friend's house, skipping the Winter Session, returned to the city on Wednesday following directions from the party high command.
Another reason for Siddaramaiah's immediate return may be that denying his close follower S R Patil to the Legislative Council Chairman Post yesterday for which party MLC Pratapchandra Shetty was unanimously elected as per party high command direction.
