Mangaluru, Jan 16: Dismissing the speculations that a Dalit leader may replace him as Karnataka chief minister, Siddaramaiah has said that he would complete his term.
Responding to questions of media persons on his arrival at Mangaluru International Airport here on Friday, he vehemently said: “I am the CM and would complete my term.”
Asked on the recommendations of Kasturirangan report, he said that a cabinet subcommittee constituted by the State government would visit districts coming under Western Ghats to collect the opinion of the locals on the controversial report.
Mr Siddaramaiah, however, made it clear that it is the union government which takes final decision on the report forwarded by the state government.
Replying to the allegations of state BJP leaders that he Siddaramaiah had denotified a vast tract of land just three or four days before the Lok Sabha elections last year, Mr Siddaramaiah clarified that he has not denotified even a single acre of land during his tenure as chief minister.
On the Railway budget, he said the state would continue with the 50:50 costs sharing policy and providing land free of cost.
Meanwhile, the CM cancelled two official programmes scheduled for today following a day’s State mourning declared in honour of former Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur.
